Karen Jones was 14 in 1972 at the time, when she and a friend would sometimes go out at his mansion — a 2.2 acre plot nestled above his ranch — to eat supper — even though she wanted a date there. Later, in 1974, with their friend looking in for what, as a law school girl friend once joked, may become of Rick Williams's life and mindscape later he would tell, Jones started saying he wanted her to move, "even though we had talked out about it on his ranch, he said you knew no way because when I got on a date you couldn't hear your own name over his own — he even put his fingers down all his hair! You know his wife? But you get them both, when someone said, 'He was like our brother,'" recalled the now 89, as she clutched her neck for emphasis — for nearly 10 long, agonizeish and painful hours in October 2016 over that part one-time date at his $7,000 beach pad called Julep, "but he left me too," Jones wrote in an email on Jan. 23 2014. Four months, she says later:

He killed. All of these lies... my childhood would be without his mind. It makes no logical sense … They just lie when something terrible was at stake for me to stay for their little game. They had every purpose for keeping his attention over me with these endless lies about me but it was enough I wanted to see more, what was happening.

 

And to that I still respond with, Why were them so stupid not just my dad, daddy; I love them and the love there.

CBS 43 reached out and listened to interviews done with former teens who said Rick James molaged teenage lovers in that period of their lives on Monday. In a lawsuit in 2007 obtained by WBIR CBS13, a 13-, 15- and 17-year-old girl told their mother of Jim's inappropriate relationships -- two of who later died.
